At last Dubai won the battle with a big applause. Dubai has chosen to host 2020 world expo. After crucial voting round held there in Paris the luck was with Dubai. The win was expected. 'Connecting Minds, Creating the Future', this theme will be in every one’s mind.

Dubai won over the heavyweights Izmir(Turkey),Sao Paulo(Brazil) and Yekaterinburg( Russia) after three stressful rounds of voting by delegates of the 168 nations conducted by the Bureau International Expositions in Paris.

Dubai is celebrating the victory. Dubai welcomed the result with fireworks. President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan called His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to congratulate him on the mind blowing win.

South Korea, hosted the 2012 world expo. The next expo is planned to take place in Milan in 2015.After that 2020 Dubai expo.

Expo 2020 Dubai going to create 277,000 jobs.

During 6 Months between Oct 2020 to April 2021 25 million visitors are expected to visit. Out of these 25 million visitors 70% will be from outside UAE.

By 2020 Dubai airport the world’s second busiest in terms of international passengers will become the busiest airport globally which can accommodate more than 100 million passengers.

50% energy to run the Dubai 2020 expo is going to generate from renewable sources.

Dubai Expo 2020 master plan is designed on the basis of Biomimicry principles.

The technologies and system are inspired completely by the designs of Mother Nature.

Around 24,000 people are transported within the Expo site every hour by cable car service named Gondola.

Expected people on a busy day will be around 300,000 and on an average weekday it will be around 153,000.

Metro Stations are connected to the Expo Site so that at around 75,000 people utilize metro to reach the expo.

750 zero-emission buses named Expo Riders will make provision for the transportation of visitors to and from the Expo venue.

Solar panels produce green energy which will meet the electricity demand within the expo venue.

The centre of the Expo venue is named as ‘Al Wasl’ plaza. Al Wasl is the old Arabic name for Dubai. Meaning of ‘Al Wasl’ is “The Connection”
